Mid-Autumn Festival 中秋节

27 September 2015,

Today, it's the mid-autumn festival, where the origin of the tradition will be eating moon cake & drinking tea with our love ones.

This year, it's different as compared to the past few years as I'm currently in Beijing while my family is in Singapore.

I wake up in the morning and realized that most of the students in the university have went back from the dormitory to their home to celebrate mid-autumn festival with their love ones as the street is so empty.

As the Chinese going goes like this "出外靠朋友,在家靠父母" (You have your family when you're at home while you have your friends when you're away from home)

The group of Singapore polytechnic students then take the subway and went out to a place called "Wang Fu Jing" (王府井).

This place feel so much like home as they have many stores which is familiar to us. (Bee Cheng Hiang, Yoshinoya, BreadTalk)

Although we are having fun, our group did not forget to conduct our project research as we visited a few apparels stores such as "Giordano" , "Nike" and some local apparel brands.

Our group eventually settled our dinner at Yoshinoya as we miss the familiar food where we enjoy in Singapore.

Today, I've definitely understood an important lesson, where we shouldn't always take things for granted.

Although I can't enjoy mid-autumn festival with my family, but I can definitely Skype and communicate with them.

Vincent Chin,
Signing off.

Shucks!!!

I did not manage to catch any sleep in the plane *Yawn*....
I am tired to the extent that the only time I am not yawning will be when I am sleeping XD

I was hoping to grab a bite from the airport (It was around 7am then), as we have been told that our China university student leader will arrive the airport @ 8am.

Guess what??
Things don't always go as you plan as the student leader have already arrive and ready to bring us to our university.

Isn't that amazing??? (I swear there is no slightest tinge of sarcasm in this sentence)
This is the culture of China, where they will definitely arrive 15 minutes before the agreed time, earlier if they deem the guest as an important one (Hmmm.... I guess I am glad to be consider important).

The student helper then proceeded to process our check-in into our dormitory and then bring us to our first meal in China.

Do take note that we arrived at the restaurant at around 11am....(I was hoping to eat @ 7am :(    )

Anyway, I have included the pictures of our first meal in China, with regards to the taste, I would say "To each his own", the taste of the food in China is slightly heavier in flavor.
Nonetheless, it's a good start to kick off my journey in China for 90 days!!!!
